"We will look back on this day as a stain on our nation's history."

Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold said that, and boy is he right!

I am not going to say much about this as I have written on the lack of citizen rights repeatedly and have no need to reiterate the whole situation. We all know Bush and his Republicans (or Republicans and their Bush) are all about removing our rights but once again they try to change the subject with it. The headline should read, "Bush protects the rights of perverts but ONLY perverts." He stands behind Hastert and his decision to hide the Foley scandal as long as possible. I am sure he stands behind Hastert's decision to TRY and I stress TRY to blame the Democrats for the release. And, though its off subject, I am SERIOUSLY tired of these damn Republican Talking Points. Why don't you put the damn paper down and make a REAL point instead of reading off of the list hoping that, simply be repeating information, it will come true. I bet the Republican think tank sounds just like this:

Let's blame pedophilia on Alcohol, quick, everyone repeat it so it might come true...wait, not working? ok, let's blame it on Sexual Abuse as a child, no? Democrats? No? Hastert? Yes, wait, let's change that, uhhh, uhhh, let's change the subject, yeah...quick, everyone talk about North Korea and blame THAT on the Democrats...damnit, that isnt working either...ok, let's try to just focus on North Korea and their nuclear test, yeah, that might work..keep talking about it and DONT mention DeLay, Foley, Hastert or any of the rest of us caught in a scandal. Yeah, I know we won't get to mention hardly anyone but try your best. Damn, we keep getting in trouble with Foley..ok, change the subject to the Torture Bill. That will work for a while but what next? I don't know but we'll figure something out. OK, email everyone the talking points so they don't have to think for themselves and lets get out of here. A days job well done!

That is just insane and sad...

Then there is the story of the young girl who posted a "would be" threat to Bush on her myspace site and got "questioned" by Secret Service. Was she wrong to do what she did? YES, it is wrong to threaten violence on ANYONE, especially public figures. Should the SS (pun intended) have known her threat wasn't real enough without ever talking to her? Yes but even if they did question her, should they have done it away from her mother? NO. BOTH parties are at fault here. I know the SS was just being vigilant and I would probably report a threat against Bush even if I hate him. Unlike Republicans, I do NOT wish violence on those I hate. That is the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Republicans believe in violence, unjust wars, torture, removal of rights, sexual abuse of Pages, etc... Democrats have one downfall, our best President had a BJ in the oval office. Big Fuc**ng deal. Should he have done that? No. She he have been impeached for it? HELL No. Should THIS President be impeached? HELL Yes. Should any violent acts befall anyone? NO.

The day we accept torture, today, will truly be a stain on America's history. But, since the last six years have just been a constant leaky spout of stains, it will be no different then the day we went to war with Iraq, the day the Republican Congress introduced anti-gay legislation, or the day the Republicans stole the election in 2000. They are ALL stains on Democracy and WILL be cleaned up this November by the truly ethical...Democrats. It may take a while to clear up this mess the Republicans have gotten us into, but you can be damn sure we care about the nation enough to do it instead of getting us into more trouble.

Just a note of interest. In 2000, BEFORE Bushy took office, our nation did not have a DEFICIT...we had a SURPLUS. The YEAR he takes office, 2001, our Surplus becomes a deficit and it just has continued to grow since then. Just an interesting note. And, for those of you dumb enough to believe the rhetoric, "Democrats will raise your taxes!", they will NOT, unless you are the top 1% of the country in income level, your taxes will NOT be raised. Are you the top 1%? No? Then Shut the F**k Up.
